The goalkeeper sustained the injury during City’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Sunday (10). Ederson got hurt committing a foul on forward Darwin Nunez, which led to a penalty for Liverpool, in which the hosts equalized.

Ederson stayed on the pitch for the resulting penalty, which Alexis Mac Allister scored to cancel out John Stones’ goal, but had to be replaced shortly afterwards by Stefan Ortega. With the injury, Ederson is set to miss the game against Arsenal on March 31.
The Brazilian will also miss next Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final at Newcastle. City also have assessed the extent of the damage and already informed the Brazilian FA that Ederson will not be fit for international duty.
