This Wednesday (20), Arsenal announced that defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has signed a new two-year contract.

The news was announced on the team’s Instagram account. The Japanese international’s current contract was due to expire in 2025. His new contract runs until 2026 and has an option for a further year.

Tomiyasu joined Arsenal from Bologna in 2021. He has played 73 games in all competitions since then. This season he has made 20 appearances for the Gunners, and scored his first goal in the 5-0 Premier League win over Sheffield United in October 2023.
“Together with his natural ability and strength, Tomi’s attitude, mentality and values are first-class. Tomi is loved by everyone and has been an integral part of the squad since joining us”, said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
