Chelsea could have been without Gallagher in the last three transfer windows. They may also not be so picky about his potential destination if his contract remains unresolved, having previously encouraged deals with clubs such as Everton, West Ham United, Fulham and Brighton, ahead of Spurs and Newcastle United.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino described Gallagher as being “priceless”, after his two-goal performance against Crystal Palace on Monday (12). According to Telegraph Sport, no significant progress has yet been made on a new contract for the midfielder.
However, Chelsea accepted two offers from Everton in January 2023, included on a list of available players last summer and did not rule out the possibility of selling him in the January transfer window this year. Chelsea are still expected to make an offer to extend Gallagher’s contract, but a deal is still far from certain.
