Lee Kang-in was involved in the altercation at the Asian Cup that resulted in Son getting his finger injured before their semi-final loss to Jordan on February 6. Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Lee went to London to apologize to Son.

The captain posted a picture of the visit on his Instagram account. “To prevent Kang-in from such wrong behavior again, all of our players, as seniors of the national team, will take special care from his side so that he can grow into a better person and player”, he wrote in the caption.
“When I was younger, I made my share of mistakes. And I think I am where I am in my career today thanks to the advice and guidance from good veterans whenever that happened”, he added.
The Korea Football Association confirmed the incident at the time. Lee and some of the younger members of the squad left a team dinner early to play table tennis, and that led to a disagreement with Son.
“Lee has done sincere soul-searching about his actions and offered a sincere apology to all the players on the national team, including myself. Since that incident, Lee has gone through a very difficult time. Please forgive him just once more with a generous heart”, added Son in his post.
