Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara will be sidelined again after suffering a muscle injury.

Alcantara had been out since April due to a hip issue. He returned to action in the 85th minute in Sunday’s (4) 3-1 defeat against Arsenal. However, he had a muscle problem during his brief appearance.

The midfielder is out of contract this summer and it is not known whether he will remain at Liverpool beyond the end of his contract. Alcantara joined the Reds in 2020 from Bayern Munich. He has made 98 appearances across all competitions, but has recently struggled with injuries.
In addition to Alcantara, manager Jurgen Klopp will also be without midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who aggravated a hamstring injury and missed Sunday’s game. Forward Mohamed Salah is recovering from a hamstring injury suffered during his participation in the African Cup of Nations last month.
