On the occasion, David Lappartient stated that the new partnership will be a way for the institution to be able to prevent mechanical doping, which has been constantly common in virtual physical sports with changes to data and equipment. This way, the UCI will be able to rely on artificial intelligence to detect fraud.
“I am sure that AI and these new technologies will also help detect or target passengers. It could be a problem with the amount of watts or it could be a comparison with all the data we have. I think there’s a bridge there and we talk about how we can use their technology. There is more to come on this,” said Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) president David Lappartient.
With plans for the future, the businessman who is also president of the Esports and Gaming Liaison Group (ELG) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) stated that he wants to expand My Whoososh’s structures in the professional category with the aim of attracting the attention of other athletes and a more diverse audience.
