“We are clearly going through difficulties. There is nothing to celebrate. I don’t see it specifically. To be honest, I’m booing myself, booing our team because of the way we’re playing. Fans have the right to react however they want. It’s our responsibility to give them something to celebrate, and we’re not doing that,” Curry said.
The boos started pouring in after the loss to the Toronto Raptors at Chase Center. On that occasion, number 30, who had been the positive highlight of the season, performed below expectations, scoring just nine points. Days later, the team suffered a resounding defeat to the New Orleans Pelicans, 141 to 105, being the worst setback since Curry’s selection in the 2009 Draft. Coach Steve Kerr also criticized the team, pointing out the loss of spirit, trust and belief as contributing factors to the current negative moment. He mentioned the need to explore different tactics to overcome this difficult phase.
