LeBron James achieves the record for the player with the most appearances in the NBA All-Star Games

Last Thursday(25), the NBA revealed the starters for the 2024 All-Star Game. According to the league, Giannis Antetokounmpo, from the Milwaukee Bucks, and LeBron James, from the Los Angeles Lakers, were the most voted in each conference.

It is worth noting that the Draft format is no longer in effect, with a captain selecting his athletes. The game returns to the acclaimed format of a duel between the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference.

However, the announcement of the starters was even more significant due to a record broken by the number 23 of the Californian franchise. The ‘King’ became the player with the most appearances in the history of the NBA All-Star Games, reaching his 20th appearance in the festive game and surpassing the mark set by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who has 19 appearances. James debuted in the NBA in 2005 and since then has never been left out of the event. The list of athletes with the most appearances continues with Kobe Bryant, who participated in 18 editions, followed by the trio Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Shaquille O’Neal, with 15 each.

The 73rd All-Star Game is scheduled for February 18, at 10 pm, in the city of Indianapolis, Indiana. Led by the ‘Greek Freak’, the East team features Joel Embiid, from the Philadelphia 76ers, Jayson Tatum, from the Boston Celtics, Tyrese Haliburton, from the Indiana Pacers, and Damian Lillard, also from the Bucks. The team led by LeBron includes Kevin Durant, from the Phoenix Suns, Nikola Jokic, from the Denver Nuggets, Luka Doncic, from the Dallas Mavericks, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
