“It’s urgent from a professional point of view because I wasn’t injured. At least my body wasn’t injured. My mind was hurting, my feelings were hurt, but it wasn’t like any injuries had caused me off the court. It is very urgent because it has already cost my team a lot. It has already cost this organization enough”, said the athlete.

Draymond Green continued to explain how he feels: “I needed a break, from everything. When it’s indefinite, you don’t know what it means either… Having time allows you to process these thoughts. I also thank the league for the indefinite suspension. You know why? Because I had no intention of returning. There was no ‘Alright, I’m going to work and get through these five games, then as soon as the games are over I’ll be back’. Part of the indefinite and returning is being in a better space.”
At the end of last week, journalist Adrian Wojnarowski, from ESPN, had reported that the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced the release of Draymond Green to rejoin his team, Golden State Warriors. The information reports that the athlete underwent several evaluations before the official decision.
“During the suspension period, which began on December 14 and resulted in the loss of 12 games, Green completed steps that demonstrated his commitment to bringing his conduct up to the standards expected of NBA players. He has attended meetings with an advisor and met on multiple occasions with representatives from the NBA, the Warriors and the National Basketball Players Association, both of which will continue throughout the season,” the published statement said.
