"I'm considering it, although I haven't said it categorically yet. Stephen Curry has consistently shown himself to be the best shooter throughout his career. I'm considering putting him as the best player of all time. Yes, above me. He's my favorite player," Shaq said. (Photo:Twitter)

Everyone has their own list of the greatest NBA players of all time. While it’s rare to reach unanimity, the consensus generally includes around seven to eight names in the top 10. However, Shaquille O’Neal expresses the opinion that Stephen Curry already deserves a place among the league’s elite, going further and suggesting that the point guard surpassed even iconic figures like himself.

“I’m considering it, although I haven’t said it categorically yet. Stephen Curry has consistently shown himself to be the best shooter throughout his career. I’m considering putting him as the best player of all time. Yes, above me. He He’s my favorite player,” Shaq said.

Despite this perspective, ESPN’s latest rankings, in July 2022, placed Shaquille O’Neal as the 11th and Stephen Curry as the 16th best player. Although this list is not official, it is widely followed. However, rankings change annually, with each achievement. It is plausible that, at the end of his career, Curry will join the select group of the ten best. The uncertainty lies in the fact that Curry has not set a deadline for retiring from the NBA.

“I’ve played for 20 years, watched another 20 before that, and I’ve never seen anyone like him. He’s consistently performed and has titles. I’m not declaring he’s the best, but it’s time to include him in the conversation about the greatest players of all time,” concluded Shaq. Recently, Stephen Curry reached the remarkable mark of 3500 three-pointers, leading in this aspect in the NBA since December 2021, when he surpassed Ray Allen as the greatest scorer of all time in this regard.
