Roma striker Romelu Lukaku has been banned for one match after being sent off during the 1-1 draw against Fiorentina on Sunday (10).

The striker was shown a straight red card in the 87th minute, after colliding with Fiorentina forward Christian Kouame. Roma got with just nine men, as full-back Nicola Zalewski was sent off midway through the second half.

Kouame was not seriously injured, and Lukaku was spared a potential three-match ban for violent conduct. But the Fiorentina’s forward posted how his leg was before the match, showing his sock completely torn.

Lukaku will only miss next Sunday’s (17) match against Bologna. His absence is a problem for Roma, as forward Paulo Dybala picked up a muscle injury. Dybala’s replacement Sardar Azmoun also picked up an injury in his thigh, and will also miss Sunday’s match.
