Lotte Kopecky reflected on the importance of cycling in the women’s category and hopes the award can be positive for the sport: “When I look at how much attention there is for women’s cycling now compared to five years ago, it has become a different world. I just hope to continue to set a good example for young people and ensure the next generation can reap the benefits.”

The 2023 season for the athlete generated many victories and celebrations as she took first place in 14 road competitions such as the Simac Ladies Tour, Thuringen Ladies Tour and Nokere Koerse. Furthermore, Tour de Flanders, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Tour de France Femmes are also included in her resume.

“Staying at the top is probably even more difficult than getting there, I’m aware of that. Anyway, I’m really looking forward to it. I want to really peak for the first time in April. Spring will be very important for me. I still have an account open at Paris-Roubaix, the Olympics are important and will be really special”, concluded the cyclist.
