This is because the player provided an assist and scored a goal in the match, his 200th with the Reds shirt.

In addition to this feat, achieved in 327 matches for Liverpool, Salah reached 150 balls in the net in the Premier League, becoming the first African to achieve this feat.

Therefore, besides Salah, only four players have scored 200 or more goals for Liverpool: Ian Rush (346, and the club’s top scorer), Roger Hunt (285), Gordon Hodgson (241) and Billy Liddell (228).

Excited about his and Liverpool’s good form, Salah compared the current team to the one from 2019, which won the Champions League.

“Of course we have a new team now because there are six, seven new players in the starting lineup. I think there are similarities with the 2019 team, but, of course, the other guys have achieved a lot as well”.

“We need to give them that credit. But I’m sure we can do something special this season”, he highlighted.

Now, Liverpool and Salah return to the field on Thursday (14) against Belgian team Royale Union in the Europa League. And then on Sunday (17), at Anfield the Reds face Manchester United in a classic in the Premier League.
