German manager Jürgen Klopp expressed his frustration and branded the English TV presenter ignorant over an alleged “disrespectful comment” towards Liverpool. Klopp’s irritation came when Buckland made reference to Liverpool’s next game, scheduled for 12.30pm on Saturday (December 9), saying: “You’ve packed your bags, you’ve got all these games in Europe, and now you’re playing Crystal Palace, at your favorite time of the weekend.” The statement bothered Klopp due to his constant criticism of English football’s frenetic calendar.

Klopp interrupted Buckland, commenting wryly: “That’s great, really great, making a joke out of it.” Despite Buckland’s attempt to ease the tension, stating: “You still have the passion, you still have fun. It’s constant, every day”, the coach remained irritated, ironizing: “Yes, now we’re going home and I don’t know what time we arrive, maybe one or two in the morning, then we train a couple more times, tomorrow and Friday. It’s okay to recover and play again. Crystal Palace are also playing today, so that’s ok. I know you don’t need to understand that , even though I work in football, so why am I going to explain this again? If you make fun of it, you’re being completely ignorant. But that’s okay, football is fun. That’s okay.”

Buckland attempted to apologize, stating, “I didn’t mean to be disrespectful.” However, Klopp retorted: “But you’re already gone. It’s okay, you can say what you want, but I can’t say what I want because it’s different.” The presenter said goodbye wishing the coach success in his next match, while Klopp left irritated, saying: “Go say the same to Crystal Palace. Thank you very much.”
