Last Thursday (14), in a press conference, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr shared his opinion on the National Basketball Association’s decision to indefinitely suspend Draymond Green. The former player states that the measure was necessary and that time will be positive for the team’s athlete.

“I think the suspension makes sense. For me this is more than basketball, it’s helping Draymond. I think it’s an opportunity for Draymond to step away and make a change in his approach and in his life and that’s not an easy thing to say. This isn’t something where you say, ‘OK, let’s play five games and then he’ll be fine”, said Steve Kerr.

The Golden State Warriors coach continued to reflect on the measure: “This is not the answer to picking a number, the answer is to help Draymond. Give him the help he needs. Give him the opportunity to make a change that will not only help him, help our team, but help him for the rest of his life. It’s not just about an explosion on the court. This is about his life.”
The decision applied by the NBA on the player was due to numerous aggressive actions, but mainly due to the action taken against Jusuf Nurkic in the match against the Phoenix Suns, on Tuesday (12). However, this is not the first punishment the athlete has received, at the beginning of the season, Draymond Green applied a rear naked choke to Rudy Gobert while playing against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The indefinite suspension recommends that the player receive advice regarding his actions. Steve Kerr stated that the Golden State Warriors organization will support the athlete in any necessary measure and, even away from the team, will have programs to continue his physical performance and reinforce his mental health.
