After acknowledging that he had published information about the team’s new image, Egan Bernal deleted the post he had made when he arrived at the Ineos Grenadiers training camp, in Mallorca-Spain. When asked for more information, Ineos Grenadiers, Egan Bernal and Gobike declined to comment on the event. However, due to what was previously disclosed, the new management of the sponsors will begin in 2024 and it is expected that more information will be revealed by the end of this month.
In recent months, the Bioracer team’s former partner announced that it would not renew its contract due to an economic crisis resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. “As the post-Covid situation challenged not just us, but our entire industry, we made difficult decisions to strengthen our business. This meant a review of our operating costs, capacity and, with that, also a reduction in our sponsorship commitments”, said the brand.
The company continued to justify the decision: “We made this decision in close collaboration with Ineos Grenadiers. They fully understood our decision when we involved them from the beginning. With the new reality for our industry, we chose to invest our money predominantly in our renowned product innovations, to satisfy and please current and future generations of cyclists who want to become fast.”
