Trump was the target of widespread criticism for his descriptions of the illegal entry of millions of people into the country, saying they were “poisoning the blood of our country.”
Barkley also mentioned past episodes, such as Trump’s tweet during his first term in which he suggested that immigrant Democratic congresswomen “go back to where they came from.” This isn’t the first episode Barkley has criticized Trump, previously calling the former president’s supporters “crazy.” It’s worth noting that Barkley launched a new weekly primetime show on CNN this fall, in partnership with journalist Gayle King.
