Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has extended his contract until 2028, which represents a three-season extension to his previous deal.

Along with the renewal, revealed this Thursday (2), he has a reported release clause of one billion euros. The Brazilian player joined Real Madrid from Santos in 2019, at the age of 18, in a transfer worth 45 million euros. He scored 39 goals and 30 assists in 179 games for the team.

During his time, he won two La Liga titles, the Uefa Champions League, the Copa del Rey, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup. Rodrygo was also included in Brazil’s squad for the 2022 World Cup and played five matches in Qatar.
Earlier this week, on October 31, Rodrygo’s teammate Vinicius Jr. also extended his contract with Real Madrid until 2027. Vinicius, also Brazilian, has the same one billion euro termination clause as Rodrygo.
