Real Madrid have decided to fire the club’s chief medical officer, Niko Mihic. Thus, according to the newspaper “Marca”, the decision was taken after the series of injuries suffered by midfielder Arda Güler, one of the season’s signings, who has not yet officially debuted due to physical problems.

Güler arrived at Real with a minor knee injury, and the club had problems dealing with the situation.
After that, the Turkish midfielder underwent surgery, recovered, but suffered from repeated muscle injuries in recent weeks, without showing any improvement.
As a result, according to “Marca”, Güler’s case was the last “straw”. There have been other injury problems in recent years at Real Madrid, such as Benzema, Alaba and Ceballos, which have caused friction between players and the club’s medical department.

Mihic had been at Real Madrid for six years. A Croatian, he was seen as someone very close to Croatian players in the squad, such as Modric and Kovacic, as well as the club’s president, Florentino Pérez.
It is worth remembering that Güler, 18 years old, was bought from Fenerbahçe this season, for 20 million euros, after competing with Barcelona.
The youngster impressed in initial training, but physical problems soon prevented him from playing for Real Madrid.
