Balotelli was able to get out of the car, and was attended by paramedics. No one else was involved in the accident. The striker refused to take a breathalyzer test, and police confiscated his driving license.
His Turkish club, Adana Demirspor, shared a statement in the club’s Instagram account, to inform Balotelli is doing fine. “We would like to inform you that our player Mario Balotelli, who was involved in a car accident yesterday in his country, Italy, is in good health, resting in his house now and doesn’t have any health issues”.
Balotelli joined Adana Demirspor in September, on a one-year deal. He has scored three goals in five appearances, and is currently recovering from a knee surgery. He gained the spotlight after joining Manchester City from Inter Milan in 2010, helping the team win their first Premier League and a FA Cup.
He left in 2013 to join AC Milan, then Liverpool, and also had spells in France, Italy, Switzerland and Turkey. In 2018, he made the last of his 36 international appearances for Italy, but was called up for a training camp in 2022.
