Last Wednesday (17), through social networks and official websites, the President of the pilots’ union (CPA), Adam Hansen, commented for the first time on Shari Bossuyt’s position on the accusation process related to doping, banning her from participating in competitions.

The businessman stated that, even though he intends to help and assist with the accusation, the union does not have enough income to pay for the cyclist’s legal case and that both the measures and the costs must be paid by the athlete who is being held responsible.

“The CPA simply does not have the funding to deal with these types of court cases. We simply don’t have the funding for this and we can’t support every rider who has a doping case. Three to four cases could be full CPA funding,” said Adam Hansen.
The cyclist stated that she had received the decision imposed by the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) regarding the suspension for a specific period of time and that she would soon have the possibility to appeal, however, Shari Bossuyt reported that she would not be able to appeal as it would be a financial cost that at the moment I wouldn’t be able to maintain it.
The use of letrozole is prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WAD) and is generally found in people who ingest anabolic steroids, which may aim to increase testosterone production. The substance can also be diagnosed when it is ingested to treat postmenopausal moments.
