As a result, on Tuesday (6), Nikki Haley lost the Nevada Republican primaries to the “none of these candidates” option. The candidate had 30% of the votes, while 63% of Republicans chose no candidate.
In the state of Nevada, candidates must choose only one contest option: the caucus or the primary. While Haley chose to run in the primary, Trump wanted to run for the caucus. For this reason, their names did not appear on the same ballot.
In the caucus on Thursday, Trump had more than 99% of the vote. He was running only against Republican Ryan Binkley. With this, the former president took all 26 delegates from Nevada – who, consequently, will nominate him as representative of the Republican party in the US elections.

During his victory speech, Trump highlighted the percentage obtained in the state and mocked the results of Tuesday’s primaries.
“Did you see what happened last night? I would like to congratulate ‘none of the above,'” he said, without naming Nikki Haley.
“We are leading everyone,” he said. “Is there any way we can call the elections for next Tuesday? That ‘s all I want.”
