A recent poll conducted by USA Today and Suffolk University revealed that as we approach a crucial election year, support for President Joe Biden is declining among some of the key demographic groups that played a crucial role in his election victory. White House in 2020.

Furthermore, the survey points to a loss of support among black voters for President Biden. After reaching 87% support in this demographic in 2020, it now registers just 63%. Support among younger voters has also declined for Biden. In 2020, he outperformed Trump by 24 percentage points in that group. However, the poll indicates that Trump now leads among voters under 35, with 37% support, compared to Biden’s 33%.

Among the reasons cited for the loss of support are the unmet expectations of young progressives, who expected more robust actions from the president in areas such as climate change and voting rights. The resumption of student loan payments, following the Supreme Court’s obstruction of efforts to forgive a significant portion of the debt, and Biden’s support for Israel in its conflict with Hamas also contributed to dissatisfaction. However, there is a bright spot for Biden in the poll. Although he is losing support among different groups of voters, there is a trend towards third-party candidates, and not necessarily in favor of Trump. Twenty percent of Hispanic and black voters surveyed, as well as 21% of younger voters, indicated they will support someone other than Trump or Biden.
