“I would love to play Static Shock honestly…I would want to do something like a superhero, or even something…it doesn’t matter. I’m really open to being any character. I feel like I can play anybody honestly”, said McLaughlin, about the DC character that will receive a movie produced by Michael B. Jordan.

He further added:“It really — I feel like how I pick my films is really what speaks to me. Also, I’m also developing other projects myself that will be coming out. Not soon, but soon. But yeah, it really doesn’t matter actually. It’s just whatever like project speaks to me and my creativity.”
A live-action film adaptation of Static Shock was announced at DC FanDome in August 2020. Produced by Michael B. Jordan, co-produced by Reginald Hudlin, and with a script written by Randy McKinnon, the Super Shock movie does not yet have a release date. Neither was confirmed any name of the cast and who will be responsible for directing the feature film. Created by screenwriter Dwayne McDuffie and artist John Paul Leon, Static Shock made his comic book debut in June 1993. The hero’s popularity surged in the 2000s, when he got his own animated television series, which solidified the character as part of the DC Animated Universe.
Also during the panel, the actor commented on the fancasts involving him and the character Miles Morales, the Spider-Man, from Marvel. The actor said he would also accept to play him if he was invited.
Playing Lucas Sinclair, Caleb McLaughlin has been a regular on “Stranger Things” since season one. The four seasons of the series are available in the Netflix catalog.
