Styles adds 12 more songs to the “Hot 100”. The hit released on April 1 has over 640 million streams on Spotify and 164 million views on YouTube. Harry releases his third studio album on May 20, titled “Harry’s House”, which features 13 tracks. The singer is on a world tour, the “Love On Tour”.
Harry Styles had been excited to play Elvis Presley in the star’s biopic, but the singer didn’t get the part. Director Baz Luhrmann told the Fitzy & Wippa podcast why he ended up choosing to cast Austin Butler over Styles.
“I don’t just audition, I do a very rich workshop with each actor. Harry is a very talented guy. I would definitely work with him on something. The only problem we have is that he, well…he is Harry Styles…He’s already an icon,” he explained.
“Harry genuinely really wanted to put on [Elvis’] suit and explore that character. He’s a great spirit, and I have only amazing things to say about Harry Styles,” added Luhrmann.
“Elvis” premieres June 24 in the US and June 23 in Australia. It also has Tom Hanks, David Wenham, Richard Roxburgh, Dacre Montgomery, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Luke Bracey, Olivia DeJonge and Kodi Smit-McPhee in the cast.
