The singer Madonna with FKA Twigs appeared by surprise and made a presentation during the fashion graduation of Central Saint Martins (CSM), this Tuesday (24). The university is known for revealing big names in the fashion world and designers, such as Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano and others. The school held its annual show in London, in the Kings Cross area. Graduate students were able to show their work to their family, friends and fashion buyers or editors.
According to Women’s Health, Madonna arrived in a Moschino leather jacket, and joined FKA Twigs to watch the performances. The singer is known for patronizing and being a big fan of designers trained at the University. The relationship of the two artists with the University is one of proximity. Madonna’s son Rocco Ritchie is currently studying Fine Arts at Central Saint Martins, as well. Twigs supports the students, and each season she sponsors someone.
This year’s event featured futuristic-themed presentations, and even the use of 3d QR codes. The audience was taken to an exclusive filter on Instagram, with renderings of all kinds of models. The award went to knitwear designer Alice Morell Evans, for her sculptural crochet pieces. Following the podium, womenswear designer Emil Dernbach and Fashion Design and Marketing graduate Diana Sträng took second place.
