The director will serve as one of the producers alongside Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, and Dave Filoni, creative director of the Star Wars universe.

Since the release of the last film in the franchise, “Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker,” in 2019, fans have been eagerly awaiting new stories. In addition to the long-awaited “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” three other projects have been confirmed to further enrich the universe created by George Lucas. One of them will focus on the journeys of Rey (played by Daisy Ridley) as she strives to rebuild the Jedi Order. Another promises to tell the intriguing origin of the Jedi, while the third will be set in the New Republic, chronologically close to the events of “The Mandalorian” and “Ahsoka.”
The series “The Mandalorian,” starring Pedro Pascal, became one of the biggest successes within the Star Wars universe, elevating the actor to the status of an international star. The gripping plot follows a bounty hunter from the planet Mandalorian who develops a special bond with little Grogu, adopting him as his son.
