In an interview to 7 Jours on December 12, Claudette explained that the debilitating condition has worsened over time. “What breaks my heart is that she’s always been disciplined. She’s always worked hard. Our mother always told her, ‘You’re going to do it well. You’re going to do it properly”, she told the outlet.

The singer’s sister also revealed that Celine has a desire to perform again. “It’s true that in both our dreams and hers, the goal is to return to the stage. In what capacity? I don’t know”, she explained.
In December 2022, Celine announced the cancellation of the rest of her “Courage” world tour, due to a progressive and incurable neurological disease that attacks the muscles, including the vocal cords, and also the heart.
“The vocal cords are muscles, and the heart is also a muscle. This is what comes to get me. Because it’s one out of a million cases, the scientists haven’t done that much research because it didn’t affect that many people”, said Claudette to 7 Jours.
Celine made a rare public appearance on October 30, during an NHL game at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. She also posted some photos from the day on her Instagram account, posing with her sons, René-Charles, 22, and the 13-year-old twins, Eddy and Nelson, whom she shares with her late husband René Angélil.
