The amount surpassed the last top of the list, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, which made another US$14.5 million in the third week and fell to second place.
“Renaissance” did not expect to match the same absurd success as “The Eras Tour”, which grossed US$ 92 million in its debut in the USA and has already exceeded US$ 250 million worldwide.
However the film, which charts Beyoncé’s recent world tour, debuted at a substantial $21 million, an impressive number for a concert documentary.

Additionally, it’s worth remembering that just like “The Eras Tour,” “Renaissance” is also being distributed by AMC Theaters in a deal negotiated between the lead musician and the exhibitor.
Which means that both parties pocket a greater percentage of revenue. then they would have if a major distribution studio had been approached to handle the logistics.
Finally, finishing at the top of the American box office this past weekend, the Japanese Godzilla Minus One came in third place with US$11 million and surpassed another veteran on the list, Trolls Band Together, which made another US$7.6 million.
Wish, an animation that was a Disney bet that already failed in its debut last week, fell from 3rd to 5th place, with US$7.4 million.
