Jodie Foster joined the speech of actors who have criticized the reign of superheroes in cinemas. In an interview with Elle magazine, the actress revealed that she is tired of the scenario.
++ Sebastian Stan will play Donald Trump in the film ‘The Apprentice’
“It’s a phase. It’s a phase that’s gone on too long for me, but it’s a phase, and I’ve seen a lot of them. Hopefully, people will get tired of it very soon.”
Still, she pointed out that she likes some. “The good ones, like Iron Man, Black Panther, The Matrix, I love those movies, and I immerse myself in the entertainment they provide, but that’s not why I became an actress. And those movies don’t change my life. I hope there is room for other things.”
The actress also revealed who directed her favorite film of all time: “The Daniels. They are responsible for what is perhaps my favorite film of all time, ‘Everything in Everywhere at Once,'” said Foster. “It’s the kind of film I turn to again and again whenever I feel depressed or sad.”
++ Hugh Grant criticizes the challenge of playing Oompa Loompa in ‘Wonka’
“I first saw it with one of my kids, and we held hands and pinched each other and cried for 45 minutes afterward,” she said.
“And then I saw it with my other son a week later, and it just opened a portal of connection and understanding and hope”. He started telling me everything about school that he had never told me, and we were walking in the rain, crying and opening up. And I thought, ‘That’s what cinema is for.’”
Additionally, Jodie gave advice to those new to acting: “You have to have faith in your talent. You can go away for two years and live your life and when you come back, there will be work for you. Maybe it won’t be in a franchise, but why do you care? It’s your life.”
Jodie Foster is about to debut in the 4th season of ‘True Detective’. The HBO Max series will officially premiere on January 14, 2024.
