Ed Sheeran has revealed that his grave is ready for him in his backyard, in a two-story private chapel worth 5.5 million dollars.

In an interview with GQ Hype, the singer explained that he has a crypt built on his property in England. Although he made it clear that it’s actually more of a chapel. “I wouldn’t say it’s a crypt. It’s a hole that’s dug in the ground with a bit of stone over it, so whenever the day comes and I pass away, I get to go in there”.

He also said that, while the chapel was being built, he began to think that it would be good if Lyra Antarctica, 3, and Jupiter, 1, his daughters, could visit him when the day came. “People think it’s very strange and very morbid, but I’ve had friends who have died without a will and nobody knows what to do.”
Sheeran built the chapel after his wife, Cherry Seaborn, was diagnosed with a tumor in 2022, and also after the overdose death of his best friend Jamal Edwards. He explained that the chapel could be used to mourn deceased loved ones, such as his grandmother, whose funeral he was forced to miss when he was on trial for copyright in New York.
