The Emmy 2022 consecrated Zendaya as the greatest actress of her generation. For the second time, she took home the award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for “Euphoria”. At just 26 years old, she became the first Black woman to win an Emmy for lead actress in a drama series twice, and the youngest woman to win two Emmys in the same category, ever.

Zendaya was nominated for the category with Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”), Laura Linney (“Ozark”), Melanie Lynskey (“Yellowjackets”), Sandra Oh (“Killing Eve”) and Reese Witherspoon (“The Morning Show”).

Thank you for believing in me even in moments where I didn’t believe in myself and then lastly, I just want to say you know, my greatest wish for Euphoria was that it could help heal people. I just want to say thank you to everyone who has shared their story with me. I want you to know that anyone who has loved a Rue or feels like they are a Rue, I want you to know I’m so grateful for your stories and I carry them with me, and I carry them with her. So thank you so much”, finished his speech.
In an interview with E! News, the actress revealed that Tom Holland was the first person she texted after receiving the award. “I didn’t have to text my mom because she was already there. She’s here tonight, which is very special. I texted my boyfriend”, Zendaya said.
