According to The Telegraph, the female member of staff, who is believed to have reported for work on Monday (4), has been suspended as a direct result of Red Bull’s inquiry. The allegations were of inappropriate and controlling behavior, which Horner denied.

A weeks-long investigation by an independent lawyer appointed by Red Bull’s parent company in Austria cleared Horner of any wrongdoing. It is not yet clear whether Horner’s accuser – who reportedly continues to receive her full salary – will lodge an appeal.

It is thought that the complainant received a legal letter earlier this week and now has five working days to appeal the outcome of the investigation. She could also take the case to an employment tribunal.
