This Thursday (5), West Ham announced that defender Thilo Kehrer has joined Monaco on loan until the end of the season.

The announcement was published on the team’s website. The deal also includes an option for Monaco to buy Kehrer at the end of the campaign. The German international has made 50 appearances for the Hammers since arriving from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2022, for a fee of 12 million euros (£10.3 million).

Before PSG, Kehrer previously came through the ranks at Schalke. The defender played a key role in West Ham’s Europa Conference League triumph last season, with 38 appearances between all competitions.
However, his opportunities were limited by the arrival of defender Konstantinos Mavropanos from Stuttgart in the summer. Behind Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna, Nayef Aguerd and Mavropanos, Kehrer made just four substitute appearances in the Premier League.
