With another US$23.9 million raised in the last weekend of the year, the film surpassed the DC sequel, which totaled another US$19.5 million, by some margin.

The animation ‘Migration’ from Illumination, remained in third place, with over US$17.2 million raised.

It’s worth remembering that the animated film, written by Mike White, has grossed $58.8 million in North America and $100 million globally to date. “Migration” cost 70 million dollars.

Then ‘The Color Purple’, which debuted on the 25th, Christmas Day. The musical made $13 million over the weekend, but has already grossed $45 million in total.

Furthermore, closing the Top 5, the romantic comedy ‘Anyone But You’, with Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, made another US$9 million.

Finally, on the indie side, films like “The Iron Claw” ($18 million in total), “Ferrari” ($12 million) and “Poor Things” ($12 million) continue to do well.
