The 30-year-old Brazilian beat names like Argentine Emiliano Martínez, from Aston Villa, and Belgian Courtois, from Real Madrid, by a wide margin. He is the second player from Brazil to win the category, repeating the feat of Liverpool’s Alisson four years ago.

As a result, a starter in Manchester City’s Triple Crown win in the 2022/23 season (Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League), Ederson came out on top in the competition by scoring 145 points.

Dibu Martínez and Courtois completed the podium, with 76 and 73 points, respectively. The top 10 has another Brazilian representative: Alisson, from Liverpool, was in eighth place, with 19 points.

He competes with Courtois, from Real Madrid, and Moroccan Bono, formerly of Sevilla and currently at Al-Hilal. The winner will be revealed on January 15, 2024, at a ceremony in London.
