Jackson was suspended for repeated violations of unnecessary roughness rules. According to the rules, he can take part in training, meetings and other team activities with an exemption from registration until Monday.

If the Broncos decide to formally elevate him before Monday, they will need to release a player to make room for Jackson. Coach Sean Payton said on Wednesday (20) that there is not a decision yet. Safety P.J. Locke has been playing in Jackson’s place, and started five games so far.

This was the second suspension for Jackson this season, a total of six games. He has been ejected from two games this season, forfeited $559,889 in salary for the four-game suspension and another $279,000 for the two-game ban. The safety was also fined $89,670 for other unnecessary roughness penalties.
