Jean Todt, former president of the FIA (International Automobile Federation) and close friend of Michael Schumacher, openly shared information about the former driver’s health in an interview with L’Equipe this week.

Todt told the French website: “Michael is here, so I don’t miss him. [But he] just isn’t the Michael he used to be. He is different and is wonderfully guided by his wife and children who protect him.” He concluded, highlighting the change in Schumacher’s life: “His life is different now and I have the privilege of sharing moments with him. That’s all there is to say. Unfortunately, fate struck him ten years ago. He is no longer the Michael we knew in Formula 1.”
It is worth noting that Todt collaborated with Schumacher during his remarkable five consecutive titles from 2000 to 2004. In an interview late last year, he approached Schumacher’s situation more cautiously, highlighting the complexity of the matter.
