Coach Pep Guardiola minimized the chances of being able to count on the Norwegian striker in his next match and is also considering having him absent from his debut in the FIFA competition.

“He has been undergoing treatment outside. He arrived today and let’s see, the doctors will evaluate him. I hope Haaland can travel to Saudi Arabia. Tomorrow after the game we will see if he plays the first or second (Club World Cup game) I don’t think (he will face Crystal Palace), maybe he will surprise me”, said Guardiola at a press conference this Friday.

It is worth remembering that due to the injury, Haaland was left out of both Manchester City’s victory over Luton Town, last Sunday, and the triumph against Red Star, in the Champions League, last Wednesday.

As a result, Manchester City is fourth in the Premier League, with 33 points, four less than leaders Liverpool.

In the Club World Cup, the Citizens will debut in the semi-final, on December 19, against León, from Mexico, or Urawa Red Diamonds, from Japan.

The Concachampions champion and the winner of the Asian Champions League will face each other in the quarter-finals, this Friday.
