However, according to the Spanish press, the German athlete is only expected to return to the pitch in February 2024.

It is worth remembering that Ter Stegen returned with problems from the last FIFA Data, without being able to play for the Germany national team.

Although they initially tried to follow conservative treatment, last Tuesday Barcelona ended up announcing that their player would undergo surgery.

As a result, Ter Stegen played his last game for Barcelona on November 12th, with his team’s victory (2-1) over Alavés, in the 12th round of the Spanish Championship.

Thus, 24-year-old Spanish goalkeeper Iñaki Peña replaced him in the last three games, in which the Blaugranas obtained a draw (against Rayo Vallecano) and two victories (over Porto in the Champions League and Atlético de Madrid in La Liga).

Barcelona currently occupies third place in the Spanish league, four points below Real Madrid and Girona.
