The protagonist played by Tom Holland in the MCU still does not have a return confirmation. However, if a fourth film is to be produced, the actor assures that he will only agree to reprise the role if the narrative is truly significant.
During a press conference for the Critics Choice Association, Holland shared that he is in discussions about the possibility of playing Spider-Man again, but emphasized that no deal is sealed: “I can only say that we are engaged in dialogue about what could to make a fourth chapter for my character. Whether we can find a way to honor him or not is anyone’s guess,” he declared [via Collider].
Peter Parker’s last appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, one of the biggest box office hits in the post-pandemic period. Despite public expectations for his return, Tom Holland sets specific conditions to resume the role.
“I have great zeal for Spider-Man and I feel honored to contribute to a franchise that has evolved with each film, which is rare. Therefore, I will not make another film just for the sake of it. The story needs to be meaningful to the character”, added the actor.
