This Wednesday (11), Jeannie Mai broke her silence after her husband Jeezy filed for divorce.

In her Instagram account, Jeannie posted a photo of a handwritten note that read “Sometimes, you need to take a break and disconnect, to heal”. In the caption she put a black heart emoji. This is her first post since the news of divorce broke in September.

Jeezy filed for divorce on September 14, saying in the court documents that their marriage was “irretrievably broken”. He also requested joint custody of his and Jeannie’s daughter Monaco, born in January 2022. The divorce files also revealed that the former couple have a prenuptial agreement, and that Jeezy expects to be enforced.
An insider told People last month that Jeannie is “hurt and devastated” by Jeezy’s decision for the divorce. A second source also said that they “had issues for a long time”, but things got out of control because he was always in Atlanta while Jeannie was going back and forth between there and Los Angeles.
Jeezy has already deleted all of Jeannie’s photos from his Instagram, while she still keeps photos of the two of them on her account. The former couple started dating in 2019, and got married two years later in March 2021.
