Arteta’s Arsenal went through to the quarter-finals after a 4-2 penalty-shootout victory. “What Arteta said, towards the bench in Spanish, he insulted my family”, said Conceicao after the game in the news conference.

After the end of the game, Conceicao and Arteta argued intensely on the pitch and had to be separated. “He should focus on training his team. The result was unjust. The team deserved to go through”, added Conceicao.
Before Porto boss comments, Arteta was asked about the situation on the pitch and said: “No comment. Thank you very much”. In 2020, Conceição accused Pep Guardiola of being “unpleasant” and of having used “ugly words” during a Champions League match.
