The singer told presenter Charlamagne Tha God that he and Swizz Beatz, Alicia’s husband, had laughed at the furor. Usher and Alicia performed together at the half-time show and at one point he grabbed her while they were performing the 2004 song “My Boo”.

Some viewers found the moment strange, due to the fact that Alicia is married. “Absolutely, we laughed about it”, said Usher. “It’s crazy how people think. It’s all about how you present things, man, it’s all about love”, added the singer.
Usher also said that their duet was “literally about having fun because of a song me and Alicia made many years ago and we celebrate it because of the legacy of it”. He added that he didn’t want to “disrespect” anyone.
