Last Wednesday (17), federal judge Lewis Kaplan warned Donald Trump that he could be expelled from the defamation trial if he continued to make derogatory comments.

The lawsuit was filed by writer E. Jean Carroll, who is asking for US$10 million in compensation. The threat came after Carroll’s lawyer said that Trump was speaking loudly to his lawyers during the writer’s testimony.
Carroll testified that the former president destroyed his reputation and is seeking at least damages. The journalist accuses the Republican of lying when he denied in 2019 that he raped her decades earlier.
The judge asked him to tone it down. “Mr. Trump, I hope I don’t have to consider excluding you from the trial,” the judge said. “I understand that you are probably very eager for me to do this,” he added. After the hearing, the Republican said at a press conference that Kaplan was a “dirty judge. He’s a guy who hates Trump, and it’s obvious to everyone in the courtroom. It’s a disgrace, frankly, what’s happening. It’s a disgrace. It’s probably one of the reasons our country is going to hell.” he said.
