Last Monday (01), through social networks and official websites, after 13 seasons, Guillaume Van Keirsbulck announced that he will be retiring due to the lack of new contracts and sponsorships for the next competitions in the sports category.

“After 13 years as a professional cyclist, this comes to an end. It wasn’t my choice, but I’m grateful for the last few years. I had a great career, but it’s still difficult because I expected to race at least at 35 years old. I thank all the fans who followed and supported me, the teams and staff for all the opportunities and what they did for me, my teammates for their teamwork and also for everything we experienced together”, said the cyclist.

The athlete began his career with Soudal Quick-Step in 2011, spending six long years alongside Patrick Lefevere. During this period he won six professional competitions and the overall title in the Three Days of De Panne and the Eneco Tour stage. In 2018, he took home the Antwerp Port Epic trophy.
In the following years he spent time at the Wanty-Gobert, Alpecin-Fenix, CCC Team and Bingoal WB teams. In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Guillaume Van Keirsbulck had considered retiring for the same reasons that led him to the current statement, however, he received the offer to be on the Alpecin-Fenix development team and Alpecin -Fenix Pro Team.
