According to information in the publication, a discussion began on Wednesday (20) between the acronyms and proved to be very promising.
The new discussion should feature the presence of Ted Sarandos (Netflix), Bob Iger (Disney), David Zaslav (Warner Bros Discovery), Donna Langley (Universal) and others.

According to the writers, the decision to strike was made during the category’s salary negotiations with the main entertainment conglomerates.
Among the group’s main complaints are the difficulty in receiving remuneration adjusted for inflation, the ordering of television series with shorter seasons and, mainly, the lack of payment for residual earnings.
Furthermore, the strike also involves an issue of technology, as the screenwriters ask for the regulation of the use of Artificial Intelligence in productions.
While the union calls for legislation so that AI cannot be used to write or adapt any material, AMPTP calls for annual meetings to discuss the advancement of technology and its use in project development.
This is the first time since 1960 that writers and actors unions have gone on strike together.
