Actors Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton) and Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) will star in the new TV series from Russo Brothers for Amazon. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the duo will be the new “Butch and Sundance”, characters that were first played by Paul Newman and Robert Redford in 1969.

Page will play Butch Cassidy, while Powell will take on the role of the Sundance Kid. The actors will also serve as executive producers and will be actively involved in the creation of the series.

For now, there is little information about the new project. It is known that the script will be signed by Cousins Kaz and Ryan Firpo, from “Eternals”, and that Amazon plans a large franchise, with several seasons and spinoffs. It is also speculated that the series may be set in an alternative United States, similar to “For All Mankind” (Apple) and “Man in the High Castle” (Amazon).
