Showtime has decided to cancel its anthology series “The First Lady”. The series had high expectations since its announcement, but it was not well received. Generally speaking, the critical consensus was that “the lack of focus and superficial characterization make ‘The First Lady’ a second-rate production”. Experts criticized the cast’s performance, such as Davis’ facial expressions during his performance.

Produced for Showtime by Lionsgate Television, the 10-episode series was created by Aaron Cooley and directed by Susanne Bier.
