The first series starring a Muslim heroine, Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) is a 16-year-old girl who grew up in Jersey City and is a fan of superheroes, especially Captain Marvel played by Brie Larson.

Kamala’s life changes dramatically when she acquires superpowers activated by gems left by a mysterious ancestor and she discovers that being a hero isn’t as easy as those she admires so much.
